Hi guys,
so i have 10 2.5-3inch pirayas in my 180gallon... the first 2 weeks they were destroying the shrimp pieces that i was feeding them.but now theyre not interested anymore. wat i noticed is that as soon as the shrimp hits the gravel theyre not interested. maybe meaning that they think the shrimp is alive when its goin down and as soon as it stops moving on the ground they ignore it. i was just wondering wat i can feed them if they only want live food?! i just opened the lights today and 1 of them is missing...no bones nuttin remaining in the tank.so i wanna solve this problem before i lose another 1.
thanx for the help guys! ill post some pics soon cuz theyre beautiful! :headbang2

my rbps did the same thing.. so i hung the shrimp with some fishing line and a 3/0 hook with the barb and tip filed off..

I wouldn't use any hook, just feed the fishing line through the shrimp and put it in a current (from power head or your filter outlet) so it keeps moving. this way you don't have to worry about them getting hurt by the hook.
earth worm would work too but once it hit the gravel it'll try go under.
you can also try to breed your own feeders in the future (not gonna help you now) such as mollies or cichlids (convicts being the easiest to breed)
post some pics man. what size tank do you have them in?
