Last sunday I purchased two "alligator" plecos from my LFS for $5.99 each (Rip-off!!!) I had never heard of them so i brought them home and put them *in my tropical community tank. Sure enough they had an instant bond with my pitbull pleco, and sure enough I discovered I had een ripped off. They are look exactly the same as my pitbull and sure enough they are the same species. So now that I am stuck with these absolutely adorable creatures, can I get some reliable info about breeding them.

By the way the scientific name is*Parotocinclus jumbo

I will post some pics soon of the adorable guys [and hopefully at least one gal!]*

Hello?

Is no one replying because pitbulls considered "monster fish" :)

No...cuz you only posted 4-5 hours ago. Don't be in such a hurry. There are many times it is slow in here. I don't even check this area everyday anymore.

I had a pitbull years ago. They are awesome. Sure they ripped you by giving you the wrong fish but these are really cool. I haven't seen any in a long time.

I don't know much about breeding them

Planetcatfish says they are like corys.

You bumped your topic two times within a minute of each other? You seem very impatient to me.

Sandy bottom with plenty of bogwood and plants. No lights. Temp 25c. Weekly 50% water changes - cold water, dropping temp to 20c. Eggs laid on glass, hatch after 3 days.

Thats the info I have found. They say they breed like corys.
