I honestly forgot I was member on this forum. Glad I remembered. I do not currently have a "monster" tank, only a 50g, but I am attempting to finish growing out some juvies.

Here are the pics:

I bought these at 5.5" and hope to grow them out at least another inch or so. Some have more potential than others. I only have (allowed, by wife) time to do every 2 day 100% Water changes.
If I could have it my way it would be 100% daily wc's, but that was the one compromise when I got back in to the hobby. Hope you like.

Looking good Rick! Love the piwow red turqs. Its crazy how they take so long to mature & color up - at 5.5in yours still have alot of color/pattern to show up on the body.

Fish look great and I cant recall ever ever seeing a cleaner tank! Well done! Id love to see how they progress, please keep us updated

Just noticed, whats with the plumbing next to the tank on the wall? I assume its something to do with waterchanges but am unfamiliar with the setup

Yeah, people keep telling me they take a while to mature. Considering they still aren't full adults, I think they are showing great pattern and coloring. I will keep posting here to show progress.

Lol, you aren't the first to comment on cleanliness. In fact, my Homesteader account over on SimplyDiscus is named "the clean house of turqs", lol. Initially, this tank was suppose to be a show piece with adults. However, at the time I was purchasing, I could only find juveniles and it changed my plans for the tank. I had to ditch the sand and driftwood idea for now, until they grow a little more. Growing out discus in full on bare bottom tanks is the easiest in my past experience.

Here is a shot from a fellow Simply member (Scott) that was my inspiration for the tank:

It is simply a return for the water and a stand-pipe drain. Initially the drain was suppose to be a gravity fed drain, but the PVC pipe was too wide and it failed. Rather than re-fit a smaller pvc, and lose some drain speed, I simply dump the water there with a submersible pump. You can hardly see it, but there is also a temp valve that feeds the Hot and Cold water. I just open both knobs wide open and the temp is automatically regulated for a water change. It takes me about 15 minutes to do a water change with this system.

Very clean looking Discus. I would love to see them hit 7 to 7 1/4in.

As would I. I have had discus in the 7.5"+ range in the past, so it isn't a huge stretch to think these guys can hit it too.

Thanks all for the compliments. If any of you would like to check out the stand build thread, you can see it here on SimplyDiscus

I also have the unboxing video of the discus here:
