I feed my p's every possible food found in the Asian Supermarket....So what more can I do, hmmmm.....Maybe mixing some vitamins in the water, duh!!!If you look at it, their skin is in contact with the water 24/7, so why not put some "nitro boost" in it....Here's a $7.99 bottle of Tetra's BlackWater Extract, treats 250g...

Good question....I'll see in the morning if it stains...

I use that in all my tanks it doesnt discolor anything and the color fades quickly

I use Blackwater Extract after every water change, It doesn't stain at all, and it will only discolor your water for a day or so.

I enjoy the tanned water look....That's why I'll be using a lot of the blackwater Extract in my 180...I'm looking for some BIG driftwood too on my beaches....

If you like that stuff, you would really like Keta-Peat Nuggets. Its the best black water product I have used. It last a long time and you use it as a filter media. Try it out if you can find it.

yea, im loving the tannings my driftwood gives, i prefer the water colour. be interesting to see if you can see any noticeable difference to your ps. how about a before and after pic?

You guys have to remember to take the carbon out of your filters when you add the Black water extract. The carbon will remove the tannings from the water and only stay in the water for a day or so.

I like to add wrap my flourecent tube light with electrical tape like a candy cane stripe than andd blackwater extract, looks awesome. I make thlights dim enough that I can leave them on all nigh and still see the fish, but keep them comfortable. remove carbon to keep the "tanic acid" or tannins in the tank, has any one added peat nuggets to the filter? I heard that you can keep the activated caron in and it will not effect the coloration.
