Hiya, all! Don't have a camera so I'm NOT the tech person, but when I talk my husband into shooting the tank and its denizens, the result either has the glass flash washed out look or is too dark to see details. I've seen a lot of GREAT pix here.... anyone want to share the secret of how it's done?

The most important key is light and lots of it. Having a really nice camera is a big help too.

Lighting is key as said. I believe remote flash either from the top or down at angle gives the best result. Enough lighting so you can manually increase your shutter speed to give crisp clear pics.

so what are some good brands and models of cameras people here use? i was checking out the canon rebel (its a little pricey).. dont know what else would take equally good pics..
