So ive decided to breed these two that are petsmart "red texas" to each other. Any ideas what will result? Better to breed to each other or to breed male to bp and female to male something else?

You'd get a Petsmart "red texas". Lol. Why not do both? Once the male is done doing his thing place him with the other female.

So what your saying is ill get all the different ones you see at petsmart labled as red texas?

I would breed the male with a female blood red parrot because it'll in crease your chances of getting "Red Texas" in the fry, whereas breeding the two texas cichlids together you'll end up with getting just basic texas cichlids.

I have a pets-shart male "red texas" cichlid that's starting to color in nicely, and I have him in with a female blood red parrot so I can "test" if he's fertile or not. If he's not fertilie he'll go into my 100 gallon tank, and I'll get a nice male green texas cichlid for breeding.

What about the female? Would a dark orange male midas/devil make a red texas?

Not that I'm aware of, from what I've learned from studying "Red Texas" the best way to end up with fry being "red texas" is that it's best to breed a male green texas cichlid with a female blood red parrot. Then I've ran across quite a bit of research stating that male red texas are infertile because of the blood parrot genes, and female red texas are fertile just like female blood parrots.

As I said in my previous posting I'm going see if it's true that male red texas are infertile.... So I'll just have to wait to see if the "infertile" holds any truth to it. But I've run across some people saying that they produced red texas using a regular male texas, and female blood red parrot. The reason for the blood red parrot's is because they're known to get a bright orange/red, and the same goes for a king kong parrot cichlid.

I mean you can give the female red texas, and a male red devil/midas cichlid.... and see how it works. A midas cichlid is basically a close cousin of the red devil.

Here's a post on it http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?287212-Red-Devil-x-Regular-Texas-Cyna

The only problem with breeding together is that i dont think ill get dark orange rt fry. Thats why i was think of breeding male and female to darker oranges first. That bp is really dark orange. An as for the female that is already orange i dont know if her pearls would pass on to the fry with a midas father and stay pearls on top of dark orange. I hope im making sense. :nilly:
