i purchaced 2 fx5's for my new 300g ,also adding 2 emporer 400's and a 3000gph powerhead.

i was thinking of putting the 2 outputs on the left rear, 1 return in the middle and 1 return on the right. then addin the powerhead in the right read to help flow for a left to right circular pattern. how does this sound.

i think with the biowheels i may not need to run an airstone but ill watch d.o and see. i also have a 600gph powerhead with an airline i could use.

what do you think

I think i would put both in flows in the middle, one pointing to the left and front and one pointing to the right and front, both the fronts slightly angled towards the corner.

With a tank that size its a guessing game trying to set up flow with so many nozzles. I recommend you go with your gut and watch for the acumulation of detritus. That will tell you where the dead zones are and you can adjust your nozzles accordingly.

Bio wheels don't have a huge impact on DO levels unless your bioload is close to critical mass. Surface turbulence is the best way to ensure proper aireation IMHO...
