I have two eheim 2217's on my 4 ft 90g, with an input and output at each corner.

I'm not getting very good circulation along the bottom of the tank - stuff isnt getting pushed around it just sits there.

I already installed a rock background to hide both the intakes, so moving them would suck, but I'm wondering if its worth moving them so both inputs are at one end and both outputs at the other end so I get a flow across the tank.

I'm also considering getting some longer tubing and making it so one output is at the bottom of the tank shooting across the bottom while the other one goes across the top.

A third option would be to try to get a circular motion but I can't seem to get that to work well enough.

Anyone else with 2 canisters on their tank...how have you managed to get a good current that pushes crap on the bottom so it doesnt need to be gravel vac'ed as much or at all? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried adding any wavemakers to increase your circulation. If you mount them on the back angled towards the front corners of the tank then it should create enough current to keep the bottom clean.

I could do that but I currently have it so you can't see one single piece of equipment in the tank and I'd prefer to keep it that way. I'm thinking I'll get a longer hose and have one input down near the bottom. This is if i cant get the circular current working right
