Places to fish in San Diego?

I'm accompanying my girlfriend to a meeting in San Diego in September. Since I'll be on my own for most of the trip I thought I might find a fishing charter. Nothing too expensive - just a 1/2 or 3/4-day trip. Any recommendations?

I'd also love to go and "play" in the tide pools in SoCal. Any recommendations on where to go to see & catch the most variety?

ill take you up and down the beaches catching everyhting from perch to corbina and halibut to leopard shark.
