I have a large group Placidochromis phenochilus and I want to try and spawn them. Has anyone ever spawned these fish or know anything about spawning them?

here are some of mine.

Hey man,

I've never kept these but I have kept and spawned thier twin borther the deep water electra. I've also kept and spawned the moorii that are real similar too. What I did was put all my females in thier own tank or at least separated them from my males. I fed the females real heavy and did heavy water changes for 2 to 4 weeks. After conditioning the females I would pick out the 4 to 6 best looking females and introduce a male the same size or slightly smaller than the females in thier own tank. THen I would raise the temp to about 80 or so. Normally they would spawn in a few days and sometimes all the females would have a mouth full of eegs. Remove the male after a few females are carrying eegs. at about 14 days I strip the females (remove the fry) from thier mouths and raise them in a separate tank. They will eat small flakes as soon as they have absorbed thier yolk sack. They are fairly easy, you might end up with a bunch of them, big females will produce 2 or 3 dozen fry each.

If you want to sell any of your adults, let me know, I'm interested.
