Plan on having a 70-120g tank, want a mid size(10-25cm) predatory fish, and recommendations?

I did some research myself and was very interested in the gulper catfish, hairy puffer, and red wolf fish. However, people seem to say all three are very inactive during the day or non-feeding times which is preventing me from making a purchase. I also did some research on the flowerhorn, but I'm not a huge fan of empty tanks with only water and a fish and I also feel like there is a lot of luck involved when it comes to picking a flowerhorn with good genes( big kok, good coloring, good lifespan/ health). Should I go for one of these 4 fish or are there any mid size predators out there that are also active in the tank?

a red devil or an oscar would be perfect for personality, but they get a little bit bigger (30-45 cm).

Pretty big difference between a 70 and 120 gallon
Assuming you get a 120, the above suggestions would be good.
Any 12" max cichlid should be fine in the 120, some of my favorites are Istlanum, motaguense, Grammodes. These guys will be very personable when adults (shy when small) and will certainly eat any small fish you put in. My young istlanum couldn't even live with fast dither fish, would hunt them down and kill them even if he wasn't hungry. These guys prefer higher pH and harder water in general.
Crenicichla are called pikes for a reason, oddball-looking cichlids which are very predatory. These guys like a lower pH and hardness coming from South America.
Some pikes I had (c. venezuela)

Thank you for recommending pikes, I don't know much about them, definitely will spend some time on knowing their behaviors and habits, your fish look really cool, looks like the fish is being serious about something haha
