I have two tanks up and they both have planaria worms in them. I could see maybe my main tank if any having them because it has gravel but I only feed whole foods, vacuum the gravel twice a week and vacuum my sump once a week. Well my QT tank has them now. It is bare bottom with 3 hang on filters. No where for un eaten food to hide. What gives? Does anyone have planaria problems in there tanks. What can I do to get rid of them. Everywhere I read says to keep the tank clean for a couple of weeks and they will go away. I don't know how much cleaner I can keep it. Could ray poo be a food source for them?

i have had that problem before as well, they dont harm the rays, if you really wanna get rid of them you can salt the tank heavily, mike suggested that however it is alot of salt, also just get some feeders to throw in ... most of the time they will eat it

i have them in some of my tanks. i could never get rid of them no matter what i did. same as u with a very clean tank and clean filters. they would always be there....

they dont cause a prob though....

with feeders you run the risk of parasites... lots of water changes and serious filter maintence will get rid of them... a dose or 2 of seachems paraguard will kill them all and so will a salt treatment...

3+.... go to lfs and get a bottle of paraguard follow instructions on the back....
