About a week ago I started the salt and heat Ich treatment stickied on MFK. Things are going good. No more white specks and the fish are active as usual. The only thing is now there are lots of little white/clear worms floating in the water. They are maybe 1/8" long? I never noticed them after stirring up the gravel before while doing water changes, but ever since I added salt and upped the temp. they are free-floating in the water column.

Anything to be concerned about?

Has anyone experienced this before?

I am not sure if its planaria or not, but it also could be those white worms caused from overfeeding. How much do you feed your fish?

White worms that live on organic matter is planaria. :D They are harmless.

I was feeding quite a bit before the ich. Had a little salvini that I was trying to bulk up. I have since cut back on the feedings, so hopefully these things will go away soon.

Hillbilly you are right, sorry i was thinking about something and said something different. I believe I was thinking of hydra. Sorry for the mis speach.

Correct but they could also be Nematodes which grow longer than Planaria, more worm like. Both usually come about form overfeeding ,not enough w/c's or not enough gravel vacs.Same reasons for Hydra.Just reduce your feedings a little and up your w/c's and they will dissapear as quick as they showed.Oh yeah, all types mentioned are pretty harmless.:)

i had a planeria outbreak awhile ago it caused my big cats to flash i tripped out its all better now so am i
