small fish of a pleco do a dent. like platys, swordtails and stuff, but if you have bigger cichlids then they will eventually just go away on their own.
agreed. and do more tank maintenance, in particular gravel vacs. thats all is needed to make them less visible. they are harmless.
im sure there is a med that will kill them but you only need to increase maintenance and feed less. no need for any med.
think of them as an early warning alarm system telling you that your doing something wrong and you have time to fix it before your system crashes and/or fish die.
there is no need to stop feeding for a week. just reduce the amount of food per meal.
just do a weekly or bi-weekly water change (depending on your stocking level and what your stocking) and vac the gravel once a week, i only vac it thoroughly once a month and it gets a light vac every week to pick up the top layers of poo and dirt.
stopping feeding for a week and vaccing the gravel will only be a temporary solution, you know you feed too much so you need to fix that or your gonna be overrun with planaria constantly. control the feeding and have a solid cleaning regime and you wont even know the planaria are there.
