In the planning stage of a 16'x4'x3' tank. Thinking of going with 2x board on board framing with 3/4" plywood and 1/4" black poly sheets with a glass / acrylic front window. My buddy has a plastic welder that we would use to weld the poly sheets together as the liner of the tank. Has anyone done this on a tank? I looked at the prices for pond armor and other products and the cost of 5 poly 4'x8' sheets is about $525. Poly sheets are what they use to make the water tanks on
fire trucks. Seems alot cheaper and my guess alot easier and less labor hours. Thinking of 1" 3'x8' acrylic x2 for the front but may go with glass just depends on price. Any input would be great.

Still trying to get all the details and a material list to gether. Im also going to make it 20'x4'x4' 2400g +-and put the filter in the other room through the wall. Im thinking of 1 1/4" x 3' acrylic with a 2" overlap. Im planning on the same framing that VLD is doing now with his 2600g. Does anyone have any pros or cons with using the welded poly sheets as the liner?
