hey all im planning on building a 8x2x3 tank out of plywood and was wondering if instead of using an epoxy to seal it, if i could use say 6mm glass (exept for front) inside to seal it.. Would that work???

I've posted the same kind of Q a while back.
Apparently you can't, because of point pressure on the glass. The plywood isn't perfectly flat and the imperfections will crack the glass pieces... So I thought I'll break the glass into smaller tiles to absorb the load better. The problem here is weight and the amount of silicone needed. In the end it'll be much cheaper and more reliable to just fiberglass the whole tank inside.

As said above, you could fiberglass it, or why not just use the epoxy? I dont see the morality in using a pane of glass to seal it in.

ok i was gonna use crommelin pond sealer but was just trying to think of a cheaper way to build it

thanks anyway
