Hi All
I'm currently having my house renovated and took the opportunity to have the ground floor re-enforced.
The plan is to have a 118x36x36" aquarium for my African Tigerfish. I will use twin 150watt metal halide lamps centrally mounted to give me areas of shade to the sides of the tank.
Heating will be by 3/4 300watt heaters in the sump.
What i need help with is the filteration. My questions are ;

What size sump will i need?

What sized standpipe and returns will i need?

Any advise on turnover for filteration?

Regards

your tank size would be aprrix 662gs. Some people say that you only need a 3x turnover rate where as other would say you need at least 5 or 6. Its up to you.

I think a 3x turnover rate would be good if u get a big wet/dry sump like 100gal.

I set up a 120" x 36'' x 24' (450 gallons)almost a year ago and have a 90 gallon wet/dry and my pump is somewhere around 3,500 gallons/hr. I have a heavy fish load and all are doing well.

mag 35... but i would use 2 mag 24's...
