hey guys I am planning on scooping up a black rhom next month after my 75 gal finishes cycling , I am most likely getting one that is 1 to 3 inches . And I was just wondering what my tank decore should be like live plants, drift wood, sand/gravel or what!!!!! Could any of you guys tell me some first hand accounts that you have expeirenced with owning a black rhom like there eating habits and growth rate. I've heard up to 6 inches first year then 2 more every year. So please could I get some advice from some people that have owned rhom's to get me started! Thanks alot.

tank decor is pretty much a personal preference, personally i like to have live plants and driftwoods. either sand or gravels will work, again it's more of a personal preference.
just check out the media section, check out other's tank setup see which ones you like and go from there.

Like JP said its all personal pref. Post photos.

usually up to 6 the first year then about 1 inch a year after that with good filtration and water quality maybe more.

Blackbackground and black or white sand always looks nice.

You get some nice driftwood pieces and make a really nice hardscape with just wood. or you can do a driftwood plant combo, its up too you.

After reading some of your recent threads I think I may smell a troll... but I will give you the benefit of the doubt for now and just wait to see what happens. :popcorn:

As for decor it is personal preference but as I see it (and also my plan for my guy since it is a tank for a solitary fish) why not go full out with sand, driftwood (the good stuff not the poop that is mounted to a piece of slate) and Live plants.

Is it is 60 or 75 because in your other thread you say it is a 60 gal? because you were asking about filtration, did you make a choice?

What do you mean by troll? I am just very interested in a new tank and i am very indecisive at this point in time!And also I was reading threads about people with a 75 gal and they said it is a good tank to start with, "for a black rhom" instead of a 55 or 60 gal.

i like to have a mixture big gravel big stones little gravel and sand depends on the natural habitat of the fish too

while since you are indecisive why not wait till you have the tank before you start looking for advice on decor and such. Because first I read that you needed a bigger tank for your RBP's now you are giving them away, in another thread you say you have a 60 gallon. Now you say you have 75 gal cycling... Now it sounds like you dont have either.

So when you actually get the 75gal just look in the Media section for some ideas. But why not just keep the RBP's you have now since you have raised them this far?

:popcorn:Nothing like the truth to start the day. Make sure you have a test kit for your "75 gallon Tank that is cycling" to know when the nitrogen cycle is ready.

Ammonia----->Nitrites----->Nitrates------>heavy water change.

As JP said it best in another thread,

Welcome and congrats on the pick up.
post some pics. it's the unwritten forum rule that if you get a new fish or a new setup you must post pictures or we'll all wish diarrhea upon you..... post some pics :)
