I'm planning on getting a baby RTC, I'm just worried my 2 peacock bass are gonna eat him. They are 9 inches, they ate my black ghost knife and my endlicheri bichir. The RTC will probably be 2-3 in. when I get it. Should I keep it in a smaller tank until it gets bigger? Or try to house it with them?

i hope you are also planning to make a pond.

You are getting good advice above. If the RTC fits in their mouth, they will attempt to eat it and will succeed, sooner or later. Bass are voracious eaters and, as you say, you already had found out.

Good luck. We will have to assume you know what you are getting into with wanting to raise an RTC :)

Try get him to 5/6" in another tank , it won't take long at all , the bass will eat what fits in there mouth likewise with the rtc once he reaches decent size try put a cave in for him at first , space is the key pond will be needed within year it'll be over 20" if grow tank is big enough , good luck
