HELLO!

i'm new to this section

i've seen a small poly about 6 inches but i cant really identify him coz he was just small

im gonna put him in a small tank first, like really small one 1 galon maybe

till wat size i should place him in a bigger one, coz im also afraid he'll be eaten by others

and i'll take photo of him by next weekend when i pass by the fish store so you guys can help me IDing him

Do not put a 6" fish in anything less than a 20 Long (that really shouldn't even be done), unless it's literally for a day or two.
What you saw was probably a Polypterus senegalus.

What other fish will be in the bigger tank with him?

ten gallon would be ok for3 days for that 6 incher
Yeah... Something like a 10g + would get you by for a few days, but certainly not the 1g you were speaking of. I should have clarified that a little better. ;)

Don't put that 6 inch bichir in a 1 gallon man. You may put it in a ten for now but later 30 or more gallon.
