I plan to buy a teugelsi and place it in a 35g temporarily though I'm not sure to what size to transfer it to my 170g. It's around 3.5 inches. The bichirs are around 1ft

where are you getting it from? And in my opinion with a poly that rare i wouldn't even think about risking it, chances are that it's wild caught and it may not eat in the big tank for a little while so it will stay the same while the others grow. So i would put it in the 35 and make sure it's ok and get it eating and when it get's to about 6-7 inches i would put him in and watch him for a couple days to make sure everything goes accordingly

Personally, I wouldn't feel safe until the difference is 4 inches or less...

I have a 4 inch albino sen with it but nothing aggresive is still happening

That's a risk 3.5 to 12+ inches is a big difference.

Yup, I agree.

I would hold off.or put him in another tank.we had a 5in weeksii eat a 2in moke the other day....

So I should wait until it reaches 7 inches?

That's exactly what I'm planning to do.
