So I have a 75 galon tank that's already stable and circulates water pretty much 1000+ galons per hr.

I was hoping to start a african cichlid tank, i read a few articles and read that it would be better to overstock the tank to lessen aggression. Now i'm just wondering if i'm going to overstock too much

here are the fishes I wanted to add in.
Blue ahli x4
Living stoni x4
Blue peacock x4
Red peacock x4
Red shoulder x4
Ob peacock x4
Sulfurhead x4
Strawberry peacock x4
Albino peacock x4
Yellow lab x4
Iceblue x4
Greishaki x4
Tangerine x4

all about 2-3 inches in size

Please advice.

Are these going to be all male or mixed gender? If all male you'll want to end up with 12-15 fish, no look a likes. Mixed gender you'll do 4 groups, 1m/4f, pick species that have females that don't resemble each other.

Good advice. Further Livingstonii is too big for a 75G and I would not mix mbuna like ice blue and greshakei (same thing, right? common names are not specific enough) with haps and peacocks.

If you go mixed gender, limit to one species of peacock per tank.

what if I went all peacock tank? how many can i fit in? and can i have different colors? I'd prefer all male but if all female would be better than that's fine w/ me.

Still 12-15 males with no look a likes, which would be hard with only peacocks. All female would be a tank full of brown and silver fish, since females have no color.

oh ok :D I was just watching videos from KQ aquatics they said a 60 gallon tank can fit 30 cichlids depending on the size.. and count peacocks as 1.5... so that'd be 20 peacocks... wouldn't it be a better idea to overstock the tank? to disperse aggression?

You have red, blue and yellow. Then what?

You can get some mixes but basically there are not that many major variations in peacock appearance.

What are the dimensions of the 60G? I like 12 individuals in a tank that is 48x18 regardless of gallons. And 18 individuals in a tank that is 72x18. If we are talking all-male.
