My planted 125 gal sump is my major aquatic plant cultivation project.
It's major purpose, to help reduce nitrate in the main 180 gal cichlid tank.
In Dec 2020 it was first set up (above)
A few Vallisneria,some lotus bulbs, and Hydrophilic were added
This is it today.
About a year ago about a dozen mangrove pods were picked up, and planted in bamboo tubes filled with sand.
Some made it, a few didn't. The trick was getting them in the most intense sun light.
1 year later the ones that made are doing well, there are 2 mangrove species.

Beside plants the sump contain a number of shrimp, and a Pleco.
