Im hoping someone might be able to identify this species I found it growing amongst moss in a lake here in Maine. I have never seen it before but it seems like It could be a very interesting foreground species if I could get it to thrive in an aquarium. To give you an idea on perspective and size the plant is about the size of a quarter. Where I found it naturally it was growing in dense carpets but was only growing on top of moss patches and not in sand. It may not survive in my tank. There was tons of it but I didn't want to take too much so I took about 8 specimens to see if I could grow it. The plant has a pretty sizable root system most of the roots where 3-4 times the size of the visable plant. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.
