I recently purchased a few plants from my lfs and got this thinking it was water wisteria but now upon close inspection, I'm not so sure?

Is it water wisteria?

The leaves seem a little different and the stem seems a little thicker than what I've seen in the past. Almost looks a little fuzzy when out of water.

It's not looking too good right now, hopefully itll adapt to my tank and start growing again. For now I'm floating it, hoping I see some root growth or something before I plant it.

Does look like water wisteria.

+1 on BIG-G's post. I recently learnt that the underwater leaves are thin and feathery but as soon as it breaks the surface the leaf form changes to thicker and rounder.

Thank you everyone!

Cant wait to see them transition into their aquatic form!
It looks to me from the photo that they are already in the form the leaves take when grown submerged.
