I have been looking at several types of planted tanks, and Iam very interested in gettting a grassy like substrate. However I don't know of any of the types of plants they look like grass, and also don't know the requirements. I keep piranha's and all my tanks have a inch and a half of standard gravel, and havethe basic lighting that usaually comes with the tanks, I looking for plants that use low light and no co2. Please help me out if you can with suggestions and steps. Thanks ahead of time

Not many plants that you're looking for will do overly well with your setup.
If you had a finer substrate (sand, flourite etc) and increased the lighting a bit, you could probably grow dwarf hairgrass, pygmy chain sword or dwarf sag (dwarf sag can hit 24+" in the proper conditions though). All would give you the look you want.

I can change the lighting no problem , however your saying because my tanks have gravel instead of sand and flourite, there really isn't any plants for me buddy? I thought alot of plants can take root with standard gravel:confused:

The type of plants that you're looking at do MUCH better with a finer substrate. When I first started keeping plants about 15 years ago I had dwarf sag that was litterally doing nothing. I switched to a finer substrate and within a week it was spreading throughout the tank. No other changes were made at that time.
Most plants will prefer a finer substrate, but some aren't really picky. Plants that have rhizomes especially (anubias, java fern, bolbitis) don't care about substrate.
