has anyone tried using the fake plants that people make floral arrangements out of in their tanks? Can these be used because i know where i can get them really cheap! Just let me know guys and gals,

I'd say that's an aquascaping question - I moved it for you

yeah i have used them and they are fine. just wash em off with cold water for a while before you use em. or let em soak in like a 20:1 water to bleech solution. that cleans em off but i have just used water int he past. one of the neatest things i have done ever with my tanks was to simulate seasons for the natives. the fall winter i took all the plants out, took out the heater, had just driftwood in, and i those leave arrangments they have in like fal colors...and i littered the tank with them. the fish LOVED it. they could dig around in them and search for food. it was really cool. then i would leave them in there over the winter and start to slowly take them out int he spring and out plants back in along with the heater.

I've heard of people using them with no problems, but I have never used them. The one thing that I would look for is to make sure they don't have wires inside the stem. You never know what kinda metal they use to make them, It could have some adverse effects on your water.
