Hello, I want to get some java fern in my tank but first I've got a question.. I have a 72 gallon tank with a 240 watt lighting system that is suspended above my tank making it 2.5 feet from the bottom of my tank also giving me 3.3 wpg. My substrate is play sand and I don't have CO2. I've heard this won't be a big problem from some people but I've also heard that it could be a problem. What do you think?

It'll grow. I have mine tied to a branch in the dark part of my tank and its growning pretty fast. Im sure if it had a bunch of light it could grow all crazy. Maybe im wrong. And buy suppliments from the store if you want it to grow faster. Also, take one of those bulbs out of your light. If you can blind me with it im pretty sure its not makin your fish happy.

I have Amazon swords in my tank, standerd lighting, no added co2 or any plant nutrition and they grow perfectly fine. Aside from when the fish tear them up occasionally.
