I was looking into using my 65 gallon stock tank (52x31x14"deep) as a plant refugium for my pond. I'm after looooow maintenance and low light plants. I can get a 48" fixture and two 48" plant grow T12 bulbs at lowes for 35 bucks all together. Will this light work? Any other suggestions? I'm not buying a commercial aquarium light fixture. I've heard I can do water iris, moneywort, creeping jenny, duckweed, and so on.

Any advice? Thanks!

I think you should go for it, i think those bulbs are 50 watts each. thinking of doing one chamber of my sump with plants doing the same thing with a smaller light

Forget the duckweed too its very messy another plant that grows quick under low light is star grass, well at least in my experience
