Are there any? i'm looking for a larger plant safe snail to add to my wolf fish tank to help eat up any extra food that hits the bottom and mabye nibble on the algea on the glass

Also i saw these snails at petsmart that looked alot like apple snails except they were blackish in color and there shell was darker then that of the apple snails any idea what they could be ?

apple snails will eat plants. At petsmart the ones that arent gold or yellow are blue, white, and usually black BRIGS which dont eat plants

not all apple snails eat plants. P. bridgesii are apple snails yet dont eat plants. A.spixi are a good apple snail too. MTS are a good clean up crew and hide in the gravel most of the day and eat at night.

"Apple snails" refers to many species, some of which do and some of which do not eat plants. The snails at Petsmart are all plant-safe. They only sell Pomacea bridgesii, an apple snails species which does not eat live, healthy plants. All the snails there are different color morphs of P. bridgesii.

awesome i wan'ted one of the black/blue ones i'll get one or two only reason i ask is that in those plant tanks they have they keep them in those critter keepers in there mabye because they don't wan't them to breed every where i just really don't wan't my sword plants to get eaten
