Hey guys I was wondering if anyone here has used Eco Complete Planted Black Aquarium Substrate, or CaribSea Midnight Black Floramax Premium Aquarium Substrate. I just have sand in there now and my plants are doing well. They have fert tabs under them now, but as the roots continue to grow through the tank I want them to have full nourishment. I also have them on a weekly liquid fert schedule as well. Any input is appreciated.

I have used eco complete and loved it. It is expensive though. I just went with the substrate from aquariumplants.com. It is a little less pricey. Hasn't been long enough to have an opinion yet though.

just use organic potting mix and cap it with whatever you want.

I have eco, but tbh, I think dirt is always the best way to go if doing a fresh setup. Otherwise I'd go eco complete, its pricey but it gets the job done. Or sand.....
Eco has no nutrition in it btw, but it holds nutrition well, so you will have to add root tabs or dose or something. I think it would work best though if you did dirt capped with eco complete or something.
