Hey all, I guess you could say im a total noob when it comes to plants though lately I have had some success. I currently have a water sprite that stands about 18-19" and the top of it extends off to the sides cuz my tank isn't deep enough. I know that you can trim plants and then re-root the stalk, is there any key to doing this successfully? I have to trim it regardless but i'd rather not butcher the plant in the process. trying to take about 4-5" off the top and replant.

Hey NC!

I trim my hornwort every week and replant. I keep a small pair of scissors I use just for this. I simply snip and poke. So far I haven't had any losses.

cool deal looks like my sprite shall be spreading quite a bit soon :P

I hope so :)

I actually ended up with so much hornwort, I started giving it away to friends lol. I originally paid about $2 for a couple of 6" plants. I am guessing there is around 50' of this plant spread out through Omaha by now!

haha nice. i was able to trim about 4 stalks of 4-6" peices and the plant is about the same size of when i got it.
