Helped my brother set up a betta tank for his room. It's got a heater and a small whisper filter hooked up to it, and all the plants are live (I put in a lucky bamboo, a moss ball, and some floating plants & planted some assorted bulbs as well). Other than the betta, the tank has one Chinese algae eater, one Japanese algae eating shrimp, two cherry shrimp, two ghost shrimp, a gold inca snail, and a zebra nerite snail. The light on top is one of those book lights you use for reading in the dark.

Nice crowntail!
Thanks! Of all places I bought him at a local Meijer's... They have fish there, but they're not taken care of well at all. They have a shelf with bettas in plastic containers, but they are underfed and their water is nasty. I saw this sickly little crowntail with great colors and I figured I'd buy him, just for the heck of it... And look at him now.

I totally agree. There are some good shops that do take care of their bettas but most don't take proper care of them. The ones that do mainly specialize in bettas only.
