Thought I would do a thread to see how the tank turns out as its something I have never tried before.
Just finished cycling and algea has been in about a week and showing some growth.
Algea types are
Caulerpa Taxifolia
Codium
Gracilaria Tikvahiae
Gracilaria Curtissae
First livestock is probably going to be a pair of Banggai cardinalfish or firefish.

Nice! "Planted salt tanks" or display refugiums have always interested me. I'm not sure why they don't happen more often.
I had a large display refugium when I had salt. Always loved the codium the little hairs on it shining in the lighting. I tried a ton of algae, I always had issues with the reds though. I've forgotten most of the latin names but mine was mostly comprised of blade caulerpa, serrated blade and codium. The tank got an angler which was fun to watch him stomp out of the field of caulerpa when I got close to the tank.

Love the tank! I’d say go for the firefish, I am biased towards them, but they have a lot of personality once settled in.

Sounds like a nice tank, I am a complete noob when it comes to this so decided to get a few different types and see what works then go from there.

Firefish will be going in there, was going to be the first added but came across a breeding pair of Banggai so decided to get them first. Haven't decided on the final stock yet, its only a 50 gal corner tank.

I’d definitely have gotten the cardinals too. Beyond that, the general ocellaris clowns, grammas, nicer wrasses, gobies, and damsels (some) are always nice.
I would say get a dwarf zebra lion but you could kiss most of the other fish goodbye.
