6.8 is a very healthy pH for most community or SA aquariums. What fish are in there?

I don't know what 'save alkalinity' is.

safe i meant i dunno im using a water tester from my pool there strips that test for ph alk FCI and TBR, mainly pool stuff, in my planted i have tetras, shark algea eaters, guppies, and other misc colorfulfish :)

and in my other 75g i have 3 small 1 inch pumpkin seed sunfish both reading about 6.8 ph

Seems fine. If your pH is 6.8, your alkalinity should be no problem. You'd be getting a higher pH in most cases if your alkalinity were excessive.

i wouldnt worry about your ph. most plants/fish can and will adapt
