I keep getting mixed reactions on this light. My 125 (72x18x24) is fully planted. I originally was using stock hood lights.

Got rid of those and added 2 30" 24/7s that I use with the 24/7 cycle. That's the main reason I bought the light. Finnex told me my plants would do great:
Ludwigia
Amazon sword
S repens
Jungle Val
Anubius
Java fern.

My Ludwigia has all but melted away. My jungle Val is getting what looks to be brown stringy algae at the very top. Java fern browned but has tons of new babies. The sword seems to be growing slowly.

Just looking for suggestions. I want this to be a low tech tank. I don't dose any c02 or excel. Ferts are gla macros and micros with the ei method, not a full dose of each. Root tabs for the Val and swords.

Any help? Thanks!

It's been a few years since I had my planted tank but those are all low light plants that would do fine with stock fixture and bulb from home Depot or lowes for plants.. how new are the plants? We're the grown emerged or submerged? If they were grown emerged they generally melt before they regrow. As far as the algae it's probably from too much ferts plus the lack of growth

When I get back to my comp I will see if I can find pics of my planted shrimp tank... all I used was excel and oscomote root tabs.. plus just basic lights.. hope I can find some pics for you
