planted ray tank????

Id like to try lar ge annubias in my tank. I have 3m quartz s grade for substrate.
i have a 8" pearl in it. Will it work? or im headig for a disaster?

i would put them on driftwood so they dont constantly get uprooted, or you could do some type of floating plants
 
substrate plants will get uprooted for sure. with all the digging that rays do, it will not be able to create a valid root system to hold it down before it has been uprooted. it will be a constant losing battle. plants attached to things will have a much better chance, as will floating plants like cmj15 suggested.
 
you stand a 1% chance of keeping the plants down for more than a day
