Picked up this guyana rhom a few weeks ago. About 3.5-4 inches really small, finally got him eating non live. Eats a hell of a lot better than the old rhom that I had. One or two of the pics are when the rhom was first put in the tank before it was planted.

He was very very camera shy :nilly:. Normally hes out and about in the powerhead.

Anyways wanted to finish planting the tank I finally did it. Next step is to build a canopy and build in a better light system.

Let me know what you think.

Also pics of my breeding cons with their fry :headbang2 and a 30g I picked up for free that Im going to plant out as well. The rhom actually might be moving to the 30 after its planted as a grow out if I get this elong sometime next week. If I dont get the elong then a sanchezi is probably going to go in it.

Looks great, I was thinking of planting my rhoms tank too when I get more time and lights. Keep us updated.

very nice planting you did. if i were you i would leave him in the big tank. i saw no growth in my 4.5 inch rhom until i moved him to his own 60. hes now 6.5 inches. but he also has a koralia 4 powerhead that hes always working out on. be careful if you get an elong. dont give it feeders if its in a 29. my baby elong recently died. right after i put a feeder in he couldnt catch he went right into the glass and died like 2 hours later.

that really sucks. I dont really feed feeders, My convicts on their first batch and there not big enough to feed anyone yet. Right now just shrimp, catfish, hikari, occasional beefheart, and mussels.

The elong Im trying to get is in a 30 right now and is about 6.5 inches and should be off feeders. Hopefully Illl post some pics of that next week

I just put sand in the 30g, only i didnt take the water out first. just rinsed and dump. Terrible idea. Its been a day an havent settled. I even did a 90% water change. Will keep doing very large changes until it settles. Not a happy person!!
