I have 55 gallon that I'm thinking about making into a planted tanganykian tank. anybody have experience with this?

i'm thinking about having 10 cyps, maybe six calvus and a synodontis mult.

how's that for a stock list? can/should i add anything else?

how about some suggestions for a plant stock list?

Thanks!

the silence leads me to believe that this may not be the most reasonable thing to do. I'm guessing a lot of people have gone this path for a good reason.

so, new world community tank, with plants! maybe with some geophagus....

I keep a 40 breeder with 10 Lamp. occellatus and Anubis. I'm about to empty a 55 and them into it and add a few tiny calvus or cyprachromis.

Sent from the black hole that is my world.

wow - awesome... I'm back on the train! a 55 is small - but i love what clownknife's done. Pendejo (nice name, btw {cute dog too, akita?}) - you have a picture of what you've done?

Do either of you have any specific advice?

ALSO, I'd like to keep a synodontis multipuntatus to this set up, but i'm concerned about it getting along with cyps. and calvus. I'd have thought they'd get along fine since they hang out in different parts of the tank, but i've been told to be careful.
