I have a baby Oscar and wanted to plant his tank because i have black sand and it looks awesome. Would this suffice? I know that oscars like to uproot but its a baby and has a plant already in there and likes sitting in it. Also, any suggestions on buying plants? Such as an already grown versus bulbs.

If you are going to plant a tank with an Oscar in it, you will need very hardy plants like Java Fern or Anubias. But, as the Oscar grows, he will still rearrange any plants you put in there. The difference is these plants might survive the Oscar's decorating habits so that you can replant them.
im getting some big amazon swords and amazon frogbit. my O is about 5 inches, and i hope hes not too bad with the plants. not very helpful, but i thought id let you know im about to be in the same boat as you. good luck
it wont work....you will come home to floating plants every day like i did.mine ate some as well.it might work for a while but when he gets bigger watch out
