I am looking into planting a ten gallon aquarium to serve as a growout tank for a hopeful breeding project of both bristlenose plecos and clown plecos and was wondering what plants would work so they don't get mangled by the little ones even though I have never had trouble with them before.

The set up:
Substrate: Regular Black Sand
Hardscape: A few pieces of driftwood and rocks
Lighting: 2 10w mini coralife compact fluorescent bulbs
Heater: autoheater that keeps tank at 78*F

wat nutrients r u adding? just black sand wont do anything but hold the plants down. otherwise sounds awesome.

well i am trying to keep it as low tech as possible and for the nutrients it would come from good ole fish poo:D plus some uneaten food i would guess with baby plecos. i am just trying to find some low light plants with broader leaves that the baby plecs can cling to and eat the possible algae off of

you could use an organic soil then sand on top that should keep nutrients in for around 6 months
