Planting an aro tank??

As the title suggests, I'm planning to put live plants in my 6 foot tank that houses an asian aro and a single bichir. I'm running 80 watts (two powerglo bulbs) of light on the tank and currently have silica sand for substrate. I'm willing to replace the sand.

What plants would you use considering the lighting I have?

What would you replace the sand with or would you replace the sand?

Planting an aro tank is much like any other planted tank. If you post in the "planted tank" sub forum you'll probably get better responses. I run 130 watts of 6700k lights and use fluorite as a substrat. I also use a homebrew for Co2 injection. The tank is a 120g 5 foot tank, no longer keep my aro in it though, she has grown too big.
