hey , i'm kinda new , so bear with me huh ? hahas
i was wondering how you guys plant ur plants into the gravel ?
cause everytime i do it , it will uproot itself in a matter of minutes .
and how do u guys put driftwood in ur water and ur still able to make the water clear without it changing to a tea coloured water , help :(

Welcome to MFK! :D

What kind of substrate are you using? And what kind of plants are you trying to plant?

Before I introduce my driftwood (Malaysian or Mopani) to my tanks, I always boil it and/or soak it first. It will still turn the water a slight tea color, but it doesn't last long or hurt your fish.

i'm nt sure bout the plants , but i decided to used potted ones ,
what do u mean it dosent last long ? the colour ?

Under the right lights the tea colored water can look nice. To me anyways. Just boil your driftwood if you don't like the color.

yay i love educating new people i use my finger to shove a plant down into the dirt don worry about smashing the roots they grow fast and then pushing some dirt back into the hole the easiest way is to use tongs and shove em in and the tea color are tanins from the wood and u have to boil these out or they will go away in a year or a month depends on the wood u also cant use some woods like pine or other soft woods or anything green, GOOD LUCK
