Work
I know they love to tear things up, but I was still wondering if anyone knew of any plants that would be hardy enough to withstand a pair of Os?

Most anubias species will work well, as will java or bolbitis ferns that are rooted on rock or wood.

I had good luck with Echinodorus amazonicus (amazon swords) as long as you buy them large with plenty of root ,just cover with lots of gravel and a couple large stones till they take hold.

thank you everyone. I've purchased a Kyoto plant, and I've got it really pushed in to the gravel... hopefully it works!

It is doubtful that the kyoto grass will work. It is not a very hardy plant, and you got a plant that is rooted in the substrate that does not have an extensive root system.

very true,it worked for me too. personally you don't want any plant that will come up too easily or will mind spending a ouple of hours floating around untill you get home.
you could also try those fake ones that lock into a fake rock base or tie lead weights around the base of them

:swear: crap. I was hoping to have gotten something that grew low enough to the bottom of the tank to escape notice. live and learn eh?

Also, plants at petco/petsmart are often not aquatic.

No kidding? I've had tanks forever, just never planted one before. just seeing pics here has really got me interrested. I've been thinking about ditching the idea of plants with my oscars and trying 10 or 20 gal...
