I'm new to plants, but I would like to try some in my community tank. My tank has a low ph and I was wondering if that matters to plants, and if it does what kind of plants are suited for that kind of tank?

I do believe it does matter, but somebody else will be more helpful.
I know it plays a large part with terrestrial plants.

How low is your Ph? One of my planted tanks has a Ph of 6.2. It grows baby tears, java moss, crypts, rotala indica and many other plants without issue. It also runs co2 and has two watts of light (8k) per gallon.

Low pH will not affect the plants much. Some african plants will have a noticed slowing in growth, but otherwise no problems. My planted tank hits a low of 5.8, and I know many that go as low as 5.0.
