Hi All,

I started my new 55 gallon planted tank at home about a month ago. No pics yet, so I'll try to describe as best I can.

55 gallon tank
Schultz Aquatic Plant Substrate
T5 HO lighting
350 biowheel filter/filtration
Large piece of wood decor (that we found locally in a forest)
Many plants including red ludwigia, wisteria, moneywort, anubias, amazon sword
Around a dozen mosquito fish
Temp at 82F
3 DIY CO2 bottles
Dosing 2/weekly with Flourish

Here's my problem--none of my plants have a vibrant green color, and most of them appear to be just disintegrating! I'm completely stumped, as the plants in my 3 gallon Eclipse at work are going gangbusters--I have to trim them back weekly!

Any idea what's up and what I need to change? Could it be the wood we found in the forest? Maybe I need more fish poop? :grinno:

Thanks for any thoughts you might have--I'm really distraught!

The wood shouldn't be a problem as long as it was a submerged piece you found in a hard wood area. If not, then it is leaking tannins and sap into the water. Not good. You can stop using the diy co2, as your HOB is gassing all of it off. If you want to keep that filter, then switch to flourish excel.
