So I had a tank with a bacterial infection where the plants didn't want to grow. I cleared that up, planted some new plants, did a ****load of water changes and bam. Back on track. New fish, new plant, 5 old plants though.
Tank is doing great, fish growing so damn fast, but I was doing about 20% WC every other day to clear whatever is wrong. Now my plants (all but one) that lived through the infection are turning brown after having a growth spurt.
It's a 45 gallon with 6 1.5 inch keyhole cichlids and a now 2 inch Ctenopoma, with 5 snails.
The plants are Anubias- all trimmings from it that did okay are starting to do less okay but the main one is doing great, a tall one that is considered a weed and looks like a palm tree kinda and then a deep green grassy looking one (it's not grass though.) That last one is doing okay, I think, no colour change, but all the leafs for the tall one and some of the anubias are dying or turning yellow.
So it went from zero growth to great growth to now angry and dying.
Suggestions? I was thinking fewer WC in this 45 gallon....
