Plants for a beautiful tank and a happy knife!

I just wanted to share what many of you probably already know;-)

I had long wanted to incorporate plants into our tanks. I started recently with quite a bit of hornwort and four java ferns. I noticed an incredible and unanticipated bonus: Alice, our brown knife apparently loves it!

I had been keeping her in a low-light tank. She occassionaly ventured out of the cave during the day but it was a rare treat. Now that the hornwort has festooned the left side of the tank, Alice is out and about virtually all of the time! She is still shy of course and waits for about two minutes after I sit down before venturing out; after that she is swimming fancy!

We haven't seen Alice this much in years!

My BGK loves to frolic in the lush jungle of plants. He's actually playing now, which reminds me that I really need to trim.

Mine too, my ghost knife loves to serach on the plants. Sometimes he even sleeps on the leaf.
