Plants for a mixed chiclid tank ?

I wanted to put some plants in my 75 gallon but my lfs talked me out of it, I have 3 severums, 2 convicts, 2 midas and a fire mouth. all under 3" except for my gold sev he's about 7 inches.

The guy at the lfs said my sev's would destroy any plants I put in the tank, I was hoping to throw some wysteria or other hardy plant.

cichlids will distroy the plants,if not straight away they will do it,,i have plastic plants in my tank,when they get there stress on and destroy the plants you just connect them back together again,,hehe

i agree... i thought java fern and anubias might be ok...
NOPE! i say either go plastic or just get a bunch of driftwood...

tanks without plants can look nice aswell, also tanks with plastics can also look good, mines not bad looking

I wanted live plants to help with the nitrates.

If you want plants you could try anubius they are pretty hardy. Make sure you get them potted.

well the midas are this big () and my sev is now this big ( ), I am getting rid of the smaller fish as I just got another big fish a 9" parrot.

Plastic plants are the best way to go.
