I've started a small (10gal) grow tank and I am thinking about trading out the fake plants in my 55gal p tank for a few real ones. Does anyone have any live plants in their tank? If so, what plants are they? I'd like to have some that require low lighting. I'm pretty new at the grow tank and live plants in general.

Java ferns are good starter plants, you want them for looks or nitrate reduction? This site has killer deals:

Also i love pothos, they lower nitrates tremendously which cuts the need for water changes. Check out mine:

Anubias plant require little light plus you can attach them to rocks/dw for convenience.

Honestly, anything goes. In my experience your water chemistry, lighting and ferts are more limiting than piranhas....

I'd like to have some in my tank for nitrate reduction and I like the pothos idea. they're for looks too though.
